For hundreds of years, the country was colonized by a variety of nations. Imagine achieving your independence after all of your trials and tribulations. It is priceless. Since 1962, the 12th of June has been observed as Philippine Independence Day. The ceremony was originally scheduled for July 4, but President Diosdado Macapagal moved it to June 12 to honor Emilio Aguinaldo's declaration of independence from the Spaniards. King Jr. was compelled to surrender his soldiers to the Japanese army on April 9, 1942. These forces consisted of American, Filipino, and Chinese soldiers that were taken prisoner of war. Many troops died as a result of the heat, weariness, and famine while they marched 150 kilometers to a prison camp. This journey became known as the Bataan Death March.  Image retrieved at https://slsu.edu.ph/events/araw-ng-kagitingan/           The fall of Bataan, also known as Araw ng Kagitingan or Bataan Day, is a significant event in Filipino history. The Day of Valor commemorates the sacrifice and bravery of those who perished in battle, as well as the valiant defense of Bataan, which was critical to the war effort and the Allied Forces' eventual victory.  Image retrieved at https://www.spot.ph/newsfeatures/56136/10-facts-about-araw-ng-kagitingan            We honor all

MOM POWER!

Image
Image retrieved at https://www.almanac.com/content/when-is-mothers-day?amp          A mom can work tirelessly for the future of her children on any level. She wants them to grow up to be nice people who have a good education, excellent health, and good character. She'll spend sleepless nights cheering them on during exams or sporting events, for example. She has the ability to battle the entire world for this. She wants us to keep our clothes clean and grow into respectable people. She takes care of everything for us before we ever ask. In many ways, we owe our mother a debt of gratitude. All a mother requires is the love and happiness of her children. We should acknowledge how hard our mother works for us as we grow older and strive to assist her with domestic chores and other tasks. Image retrieved at https://askthescientists.com/men-women-different/           Men and women make up our society. Men were once thought to be the family's most important members. They were the family's decision-makers and were in charge of making a living. Women, on the other hand, were in charge of household and child rearing. As a result, the roles were primarily determined by gender and were not involved in any decision-making. Women's difficulties are either focused on their reproductive role and their bodies, or on their economic role as a worker. However, none of them is centered on women's empowerment. Women in today's generation have the right to a decent living, unlike before. Women empowerment served to be a critical tool for development. Empowered women make a di

Image retrieved at http://www.ilocandiatreasures.com/2010/08/viva-vigan-binatbatan-festival-of-arts.html?m=1            The Viva Vigan! Binatbatan Festival of the Arts is a city-wide cultural display that began in 1993 to coincide with the city's Tres de Mayo celebrations. To commemorate the celebrations, the centuries-old monuments along Crisologo Street were all draped in abel iloko fabric or inabel. Binatbatan street dancing began in 2002, with dancers imitating the ancient Ilocano method of beating cotton pods with two bamboo sticks, which is the initial step in the process of creating inabel. The seeds were separated from the fluff by pounding. Image retrieved at https://barangaysofvigan.info/binatbatan-festival-of-the-arts/            Binatbatan Festival has its origins in Vigan's abel weaving business, which existed long before the Spaniards arrived to colonize the Philippines. It comes from the word batbat, which refers to a pair of bamboo sticks used to remove cotton p

More knowledge and skills were acquired, and a whole new level of experience was gained. In the roller coaster ride journey in the third grading period, I had gone through a lot. Unforgettable memories were gained, as well as the life-changing lessons that have learned. Those skills acquired will surely be helpful for me, not only today, but in the future. This quarter, Information Communication Technology was so fun to learn, because it’s like upgrading the knowledge you had in an enjoyable way. These are part of a learner’s life. I have struggled in the comprehension of lessons, but I managed to keep on trying until I finally get the lessons. Another problem that I encount

Vaccine to save our lives!

Image retrieved at https://images.app.goo.gl/7cJeHTZLFSAFuE9x8                More than two centuries ago, Edward Jenner executed his study on vaccination. Though he is not the one who invented the method, he was considered to be the father of vaccines due to his scientific approach which proved the effectiveness of vaccination. He performed the method of arm-to-arm inoculation which involved taking material from a blister of a person infected with cowpox and inoculated it into another person’s skin. Because of the effectiveness of the first invented vaccines, the production increased, and a lot of different illnesses, especially viruses was cured from vaccines. The soldiers were held prisoners and forced to walk the notorious 140-kilometer Bataan Death March to Camp O'Donnell in Capas, Tarlac. The law, which was passed by Congress in 1961, states that part of the commemoration for Bataan Day is a moment of silence at 4:30 p.m. among citizens and public offices. The Araw ng Kagitingan, or Day of Valour, honors Filipino and American soldiers who fought Japanese troops during World War II. I
