Foundation Day in a Festive Way!
Every province have different festivities. This is mainly to share the culture and beliefs, but it is also a form of celebration. Celebrating this annual events have became part of our yearly routine. Without this celebrations, we cannot showcase how proud we are, and how we honor such important events in history.
In Ilocos Sur, a yearly awaited event, Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is being celebrated. Among all of the festivities that the province have, this is one of the most important one. This is because Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is an annual celebration of the province's foundation day. February 3, 1818 was the day that Ilocos Sur became a province. The said festival is celebrated for a week or more. Various local products are being shown and sold, especially foods. Philippine celebrities and singers are also invited to perform at nights. It's a heavenly week for Ilocanos!
Celebrating festivals and important events are important. It's a form of remembering our history. Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is always celebrated in a grand way. But this year, a simple celebration is already considered a big one, if our safety is not at risk. Always stay safe, follow the health protocols, and stay hydrated!
